Creative At Home Easter Ideas

There are plenty of ways to make this Easter holiday special
while following protocol for social distancing. Here are a few tips for getting
into the spirit of things while staying healthy and safe.
Connect With Elderly Loved Ones
Keeping in touch with grandparents and older family members
have become increasingly important during this time of social distancing.
During the Easter holiday consider making a homemade video, creating an online
message or simply picking up the phone and making a call. Arranging a Zoom call
or using another video conferencing platform is a wonderful way to stay
visually connected while keeping our elderly friends and family safe. If your
loved ones live nearby, making homemade treats may be an option. With any type
of deliveries or drop-offs, remember to stay at least six feet away from
your loved ones, organize curbside deliveries or leave them on the porch,
always disinfect packages and follow the prescribed guidelines in your area.
Bring Easter Egg Hunts Indoors
As community Easter egg hunts across the country are
cancelled this year, it’s time to get creative indoors. With a little
imagination, at home Easter egg hunts can be enjoyable for kids of all ages.
Create unique markers and clues for the event and fill eggs with treats, jokes
and fun indoor games for the whole family. Virtual Easter egg hunts are rapidly
gaining momentum so check out what’s happening in your community or organize
your own virtual egg hunt on Facebook, Google, Skype or Zoom. Most of all make it
fun!
Enjoy Easter Brunch…Online
It may sound unconventional but consider sharing your Easter
brunch with family and friends via Zoom, Google or Skype. Bring out the good
dishes, set the table, turn on the computer and sit down for an extra-special
meal at home in the company of your loved ones in their homes. Plan the event
in advance, choose your video conferencing platform, invite your guests, ready
your menu and make it a family affair to remember. Kids bored? Get them to
decorate the house or participate in making the meal. Get everyone involved and
enjoy your time together!
Check Out Virtual Easter Celebrations
Many communities across the country are moving their Easter
celebrations online in response to social distancing. Check out the virtual
events planned in your community to see what online options are being held this
year in place of in-person events and gatherings. Think about inventing a new
Easter tradition for your family like creating a special meal or taking time
out to practice gratitude. The year 2020 has been a year of firsts for many
families. Now is a good time to start some new traditions and to remember we’re
all in this together.
